Established in 1896 as Nanyang Public School, it is a public research university. Former Chiao Tung University teachers and alumni re-established NCTU in 1958, making it one of Taiwan’s most prestigious institutions. Scholarship Coverage:
All the Expenses of selected Students were provided by the government of Taiwan during Study. International Students get the following benefits:
1) If you are a student in the undergraduate program, you may be eligible for a monthly stipend of up to NT$21,000 (US$700).
(2) If you are a student of a Master’s program, you may be eligible for a monthly stipend of up to NT$22,000 (US$733).
(3) If you are a student of the Doctoral program, you may be eligible for a monthly stipend of up to NT$29,000 (US$966).
Duration: Up to 1 year
- Renewal: Applicants for NYCU/NCTU International may apply after the first award year.
Scholarships for outstanding current students. Tuition reductions and/or cash awards are available for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students. The monthly stipends range from NT$21,00000 (US$700) to US$22,000 (US$733) to US$29,000. Scholarships for existing students may be renewed and evaluated up to a maximum number of years depending on applicants’ academic achievement, research record, and other factors.

- To be successful, you must be mentally and physically fit.
- You cannot be a recipient of any other scholarship at the same time.
- You need to fill out the application form honestly, completely, and correctly.
- You need to submit the application materials required by the university.
- As long as you have a high school degree, you may be able to apply for a bachelor’s.
- If you have an undergraduate or Bachelor’s degree, you are eligible to apply for Master’s programs.
